How to Use Facebook Lite on Your PC

July 4, 2025

Who would have thought that in 2025, Facebook will be used by more than 3 billion people around the world when it was first launched in 2004? Some journeys are unbelievable and so are the user behaviors! With time, people have started using lighter versions of most apps to save storage space on devices. Even Facebook has the Lite version too along with Instagram Lite on the Play Store.

However, when it comes to using this social media app on your PC, only the Facebook regular version is available on the Microsoft Store for Windows users and not the Lite version. To use Facebook Lite for PC, you will have to use an Android emulator that mirrors the Android ecosystem on your Windows PC or laptop. Confused? Let’s make it easier for you by showing you how to do it exactly with this step-by-step guide.

  • Download Bluestacks emulator from its official website or any third-party website.
  • Install it on your PC and follow the on-screen instructions, and select the options that suit your requirements.
  • Now, launch the emulator and login to your Google account once prompted.
  • Next step is to open the Google Play Store app from the home screen of the emulator and search for the Facebook Lite app.
  • Once you find it, click on the install option, and you’re all set to use the Facebook Lite app on your PC or laptop once the installation is completed.

Hat Tip: Ensure that your PC or laptop has a minimum of 8GB RAM, 256GB free space on hard disk or SSD and Windows 10 or above to run the emulator without any glitches.

As you are now aware of the installation process of Facebook Lite for PC, let us now see what features the app has on offer for its users!

#1. Reduced Data Usage Yet Faster Loading

Unlike the regular version of Facebook, which uses more data to load your feed, the Lite version uses much less data to make the app work and loads much faster too. It’s because of the smaller app size and fewer resources being used to load the entire feed.

It even works on the 2G network, in which the internet speeds are usually very slow. Of course, most areas have 3G or above, but if only a 2G network is available, then Facebook Lite can be a lifesaver!

#2. Does Everything as the Normal Facebook App

Most of the core features of Facebook are available in the Facebook Lite app. Be it feed, news updates, notifications, videos, making friends and more, everything is available in the app. The only drawback is that you’ll need to integrate the Facebook Messenger app if you want to talk to someone as Facebook Lite doesn’t support messaging directly.

Moreover, it’s compatible with most of the Android devices, even the older ones that don’t support the installation of the regular Facebook app.

#3. Simple Interface

You’ll only see what you need or want to see. The interface is pretty simple and basic; it’s actually easy on the eyes with no fuss around the feed, unlike the Facebook app. This improves the overall performance (speed) of the app and ensures less data is consumed while you use the app.

Conclusion

When it comes to using Facebook Lite on your PC, you may prefer to use the regular Facebook in your browser. But if you want to use lesser data, then Facebook Lite can be your best buddy!
